Atelier Assist 6-Axis Leathercraft Rig
A high-precision robotic assistant designed to handle the tedious preparation of luxury leather goods while leaving the final saddle-stitching to the artisan. It combines computer vision for grain optimization with automated cutting, burnishing, and pre-piercing to triple workshop throughput.

Original prompt
Atelier assist robot for haute leather goods (Birkin-style handbags). Not a full artisan replacement — Hermès bags take 40h of hand-saddle-stitching by one master. This is an assist rig: 6-axis arm with vacuum cup + clicker die that cuts hide panels following a CV grain-map; edge-burnishing wheel; embossing head for hardware marks; saddle-stitch pre-piercer at 7 SPI so the human just pulls two needles through. Vision QC rejects panels with grain defects or scars, optimizes hide layout for waste. Goal: one master ships 3 bags/week instead of 1, keeping the hand-stitched soul intact.
